Amidst a spike in COVID-19 cases, Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said that the government had no plans to impose a lockdown in the capital. Delhi BJP chief Adesh Kumar Gupta also said that his party had raised the demand that the cost of testing be brought down by 50%. At present, a COVID-19 test in Delhi costs Rs 4,500.
The Tamil Nadu chief minister has announced a complete lockdown in the Chennai, Thiruvallur, Chengalpet, and Kancheepuram districts of the states. The state is currently witnessing the second-worst outbreak of the infection in India followed by New Delhi. More than 45,000 people have contracted the virus in Tamil Nadu and over 40,000 in New Delhi.
