The year 2016 was a big one for ISRO. The organisation, boosted by a modest budget hike of 1.6%, conducted a developmental flight of the GSLV Mk-II rocket with its first indigenously built cryogenic engine, finished launching all six satellites of the IRNSS constellation, started conducting tests of its first reusable launch vehicle and worked towards new missions to the moon and Mars.
