1. Mention clearly that the article is for publication
2. Give the gist of the piece in a couple of sentences in the message
3. Article should be an original piece of work by you
4. Explain what your expertise is in the subject
5. The article should not have been sent elsewhere at the same time as it has been sent to us
6. Send the article preferably as an attachment in .doc or .docx format
7. While we do look at longer pieces, the ideal length is around 900-1,100 words
8. We receive a large number of articles and normally revert in a couple of days, but occasionally we may not. Please be patient
