The Delhi chief minister has been campaigning in Punjab for the upcoming assembly elections over the last week, and photos and videos from several of his rallies show crowds gathered without masks and violating other COVID-19 protocols. Political parties across the spectrum have been holding rallies of this kind lately, even as COVID-19 numbers across the country continue to rise.

On January 2, while pointing to the rising number of COVID-19 cases in the capital, Kejriwal had asked people not to panic. “All cases are mild and asymptomatic,” the chief minister had said, adding that the number of hospitalisations remained low.
