
Dr Payal Tadvi, a 26-year-old oppressed caste doctor, committed suicide in Mumbai on May 22. Payal, an Adivasi Bhil woman from Jalgaon district in Maharashtra, was facing harassment by three senior doctors. She was a trained and practising gynaecologist and was working as a second-year resident at the BYL Nair Hospital.
