The Care Earth Trust and the Society for Conservation Biology present a visual documentation on marine conservation and its impact on local livelihoods. This film begins with an introduction to the Gulf of Mannar, consisting of over 21 islands. They look at the expansive range of marine species that make up the 10,000 sq. km swath of the marine biosphere reserve, and step into the problem areas that currently persist, from over-fishing to smuggling activities, that continue to put immense pressure on the marine ecosystems.
